This is to remind you that the 2001 Sports Day on Poppleton Village Green is just a week away so you should be finalising your entries for the various competitions. The usual fancy dress, go-kart and handicraft competitions are being held, with cups and medals or cash prizes to be won. On the day itself the races around the maypole will continue in the well established format. The theme for this years races is 'cartoon capers' - so get practising! A more controlled registration procedure is again being used in anticipation of a large number of children wanting to enter races. Please follow the instructions given in the programme (which will be available in the village during the week before Sports Day). even your parents can have a cool time
